UPowr Pty Ltd (ABN 39 627 040 386) provides software as a service (SaaS) solutions for renewable energy and solar industry professionals, enabling businesses to manage installations, customer data, and operational workflows. This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Enterprise and Business Users, who input commercial, customer and job details into the UPowr platform.

  • Installer App Users, who enter contact details, access customer information via the mobile app, and input job-related data.

By using UPowr’s platform and services, you consent to our collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This Privacy Policy applies only to UPowr Pty Ltd’s SaaS platform and services. It does not apply to Wattle Powr, a registered business and operating division of UPowr Pty Ltd, which provides managed retail services. Customers and users of Wattle Powr should refer to the Wattle Powr Privacy Policy for details on how their data is handled.

This Privacy Policy applies to job applicants who submit resumes, reference checks, or other personal data to UPowr as part of a recruitment process. Employee records of current and former employees are managed separately under our internal HR policies and are currently exempt under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1.1 Clarifying the relationship between UPowr and Wattle Powr

UPowr Pty Ltd provides software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions and operates entirely independently from Wattle Powr, our managed services division. We understand the importance of safeguarding commercially sensitive information provided by our SaaS customers. We do not share or make available commercially sensitive or competitive pricing information submitted to UPowr's SaaS platform with Wattle Powr or any other entity, unless required to by law. Each division operates independently with strict data separation policies and access controls.

2. What Information Do We Collect?

UPowr collects personal information required to provide and improve our SaaS platform and services. This includes:

2.1. Enterprise & Business Users

  • Business account details (company name, ABN, contact information)

  • Platform user profiles (names, email addresses, roles, login credentials)

  • End consumer information entered into the system (names, addresses, job details, site assessments, energy consumption data, energy generation data)

  • System usage logs and audit trails

2.2. Installer App Users

  • Personal contact details (name, email, phone number)

  • Location data (if enabled for job tracking and verification)

  • Job-related data (installation photos, work completion notes, timestamps)

  • Homeowner or site contact details accessed via the app

2.3 Prospective Employees

4.1 Commercially Sensitive and Exclusive Pricing Data

When enterprise or business users enter commercially sensitive and exclusive pricing information into the UPowr platform—either directly or via integrations/plugins—the following safeguards apply:

  • Such data is treated as confidential and is not shared, accessed, or analysed.

  • UPowr employees have restricted access to pricing data, limited strictly to essential platform maintenance or troubleshooting activities, and subject to strict role-based permissions.

  • Pricing data will not be analysed, aggregated, or used for market intelligence or competitive analysis, ensuring customer-specific commercial insights remain exclusive and secure.

5. Who Do We Share Your Information With?

We may share data with:

  • Enterprise and business platform users, based on their access permissions

  • Installers, who access customer and job details for assigned tasks

  • Third-party service providers, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, and identity verification services

  • Regulators or law enforcement, when legally required

6. Data Security & Retention

We apply strict security measures, including:

  • Encryption of stored and transmitted data

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for platform login

  • Retention of job and customer data only for necessary periods, based on contractual and regulatory requirements

  • Rigorous role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure that only authorised personnel can access commercially sensitive data, strictly on a need-to-know basis

  • Logical separation of customer data to prevent unintended access or disclosure between UPowr SaaS customers and Wattle Powr.

7. International Data Transfers

UPowr primarily stores data in Australia, but may use cloud providers with international storage.

Where we transfer personal information overseas (for example, to data centres or service providers in the United States or European Union), we take reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected and handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. This includes ensuring appropriate contractual and security arrangements are in place.

10. AI & Automated Processing

UPowr may utilise AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, including features like job assignment or workflow optimisation. However, these technologies:

  • Will not be used to make automated decisions that significantly impact users without human oversight

  • Do not process commercially sensitive pricing or competitive market data.

  • Will never use customer-entered pricing or competitive information for market analysis, benchmarking, or to inform business strategies within UPowr or any affiliated division including Wattle Powr.
