A new solar experience

From a mind map to a platform, we’re ready to completely change the way we do solar.

It all started with a question of possibility.

Is it possible to enhance the way customers buy solar? Is it possible to bring electricity retailers into the process in a scalable, yet consistent way? Is it possible to change the way installers operate within the solar industry?

And perhaps the biggest question of all — is it possible to create valuable outcomes for everyone involved?

Nearly 18 months on, we’ve built a digital platform and executed a range of partnerships to prove that ultimately, the answer is yes.

In this time, the team has grown from one to two, to be as big as seven at times — all working hard to ensure the pilots we have in market continue to ensure the answer remains the same.

In an otherwise fragmented sector, we’ve built a digital platform to make solar simple.

We’ve untangled the web of good intentions and complex processes, and brought together the best pieces of the solar puzzle in a way that creates better outcomes for everyone involved — especially the end customer.

Through the platform, we present to the customer what solar could look like as their reality. Using the best data resources available, we generate a system design on their roof, a breakdown of the system itself, and an estimate on how it should perform and what they’re likely to save given their past energy use.

We then facilitate a completely digital customer journey. We organise everything and provide quick digital updates on what the customer needs to know about the process and solar more generally.

After installation we continue to provide support. Why? Because a solar experience shouldn’t stop the minute it’s on your roof. It should stop when you no longer want the experience, or when you no longer want solar.

The industry has long recognised the danger of the abrupt endpoint that exists. Yet in the current residential solar landscape, who’s incentivised to keep the experience going?

This is what makes our platform model so important.

It allows each provider in the journey to focus on providing what they do best, with the UPowr platform filling the gaps in between in a way that’s sustainable.

For installers, business sustainability means a healthy pipeline and resources to keep teams trained, certified and delivering on high-quality jobs. Through the platform, our network of CEC accredited, peer-recommended installers are able to select jobs that suit their schedules, record field services and ensure all documentation is kept up to date.

While on-boarding our network of installers takes time, it’s necessary to ensure we have the best local teams working on our customer’s solar installation.

The customers, now powered by solar, are looped back to the electricity retailer partner, who were able to proactively offer the digital solar service (at scale) in the first place.

We built UPowr to transform the way customers, installers and retailers do solar.

We believe whether it’s one customer or one million customers, everyone should have a great experience getting solar.

While solar is our starting point, batteries are right around the corner, with plans to explore more opportunities for the platform to become the go-to place for new energy products and services in Australia and around the world.

With our sights focused keenly on the path ahead, we’re excited to bring forward a new solar experience.
